Oklahoma City has great transportation systems

Highways
Oklahoma City's is centrally located in the state. Interstate 35 and Interstate 40 intersect adjacent to the Central Business District. Interstate 44 and other highways serve Oklahoma City, making it quite easy to get to any part of the city in 20 minutes or less. (There are 608 square miles in Oklahoma City. )

City Streets
Streets that run east and west are generally numbered, i.e. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.
Streets that run north and south usually have names, i.e. Pennsylvania, May, Western, Classen, etc.

Will Rogers World Airport
Will Rogers World Airport is the city's largest commercial airport. Nine air carriers serve it with 75 departures daily. With more than 8,000 acres of land, there is abundant room for growth. An $85 million terminal renovation and expansion project began in the fall of 2000. The project will add an additional 200,000 square feet to the terminal and increase the number of gates from 16 to 25. For more information, go to www.flyokc.com.

Wiley Post Airport
Wiley Post Airport is a reliever airport to Will Rogers World Airport serving general aviation, particularly corporate aircraft. Its central location is convenient to both the driving and flying public and provides access to Oklahoma City's major business and entertainment districts in just minutes.

C.E. Page
C.E. Page is a grass-roots general aviation facility. This "neighborhood" airport has been host to such great family events as the World Aerobatics Championships and the world-famous Aerospace America.

Metro Transit
Metro Transit buses and vans serve over 20 fixed bus routes operating Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. covering the main traffic areas of Oklahoma City. Basic bus fares are $1.00 for the metro area. Metro Transit also provides transportation for mobility-impaired persons with Metro-Lift.

Trolleys & Buses
The Oklahoma Spirit Trolleys, designed in the style of an American Heritage Streetcar, are a fun way to relive the old days and explore downtown Oklahoma City. Downtown trolley lines operate on a 10 to 20 minute frequency and rides are only $.25. Trolleys also shuttle to and from the I-40/Meridian area for $.50.

Reduced fares are available for individuals 60 and over at $.50 for bus fares, $.10 for downtown trolley lines and $.25 for the I-40/Meridian trolley. Children six and under ride free on both buses and trolleys.

Call 235-RIDE for any bus and trolley information and to receive personalized trip information from start to  final destination. Union Bus Station, located at 427 West Sheridan, (405) 235-6425, uses Greyhound services.

Amtrak
The Heartland Flyer offers convenient, affordable daily service between  Oklahoma City and Fort Worth, with stops along the way in Norman, Purcell, Pauls Valley, Ardmore and Gainesville. Connections in Fort Worth can be made to many of Amtrak's nationwide destinations including Dallas, Chicago, San Antonio and Los Angeles.
